Day 3

Last night's dinner went well. Baked Salmon in a soy sauce glaze with sauteed napa cabbage and leeks. I had never cooked leeks before. They were really good. I sauteed them with a little rice wine vinegar, and Thai chili garlic sauce. I drizzled it at the end with a homemade peanut sauce. The Salmon is covered with soy sauce, a teaspoon of honey, garlic, parsley, basil, and grated fresh ginger.

I ate popcorn before bed while watching Top Chef. I was so happy to see Michael win both challenges. I always love the under dog. The rest of them are a bit pretentious. He's seems like he's the only one who just loves to cook.

More later,
lad

hey there lad, i like the recipes on this blog!! thanks for sharing them. how did you make the homemade peanut sauce? i think i might try it out for the fam tomorrow night.

oh--thank you for the head's up on the 14 day diet. i have been out of the news loop lately. we have been out of town for the last 2.5 weeks and i definitely was not reading the paper or watching t.v. i was barely aware that s.h. was executed! that should be one of my new year's resolutions is to take the time (at least once every couple of weeks) to sit down with the paper and a large cup of java and peruse the times at my leisure. i have not done that for MONTHS! i have yet to fully commit to weight loss as a resolution yet so perhaps i should resolve to read the paper and just support you in YOUR weight loss endeavors. what do you think?
